1.2                   SUBMITTALS

                                    Include door elevations, head, jamb and meeting stile details

                                    including full or partial gaskets.

                        3.         Samples:  Full range of manufacturer's standard color

                                    selections for panel.

                                    a.         Manufacturer's Installation Instructions.

1.3                   QUALITY ASSURANCE

 

            A.                    Qualifications:

                        1.         Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in

1.4                   DELIVERY STORAGE AND HANDLING

 

            A.        Section 01660 - Product Storage and Handling Requirements:

                        Transport, handle, store and protect Products.

 

            B.        Deliver product in manufacturer's original unopened packages with

                        label legible and intact.

 

            C.        Examine doors upon delivery for damage.  Verify doors were

                        shipped on edge or in upright position as indicated on packaging

                        by manufacturer.

 

                        1.         Note specific doors shipped in other than on edge or upright

                                    position on bill of lading and contact manufacturer.

 

            D.        Store doors at project site on edge or in upright position and under

                        cover following manufacturer's instructions printed on carton.

 

1.5                   PROJECT/SITE CONDITIONS

 

            A.        Existing Conditions: Frames installed, under other sections, shall

                        be level and plumb.

 

1.6.                  WARRANTY 

 

            A.        365 days from the date of installation or 395 days from the date of

                        shipment, whichever comes first.

2.2                   DOOR COMPONENTS

 

A.        Door Panel: shall be a hollow shell of high impact, linear polyethylene with minimum wall thickness of 1/8", overall panel thickness varies from 1” to 2" and has a textured finish.  Leading

edge has molded in extrusion to accept soft leading edge safety bullnose gasket.  [Biparting doors to have blade gasket on leading edge].  Each panel shall be molded with integrated bumpers above and below the window for protection against abuse by non-motorized and pedestrian traffic. Completed door is serialized and packaged with pre-mounted hardware kit.

 

            B.        Standard Hinge System: consists of the following components:

 

1.         Upper hinge: spring loaded, low friction with UHMW plug.

 

2.         Lower hinge: low friction UHMW cam mated to a stainless steel cam having an adjustment for entering panel in opening.

3.         All moving hinge parts to be fully enclosed with the extruded aluminum spine.

4.         Panels shall be manufactured with a one piece back edge spine of continuous extruded aluminum with flanges that radius the door panel.  Spine shall be powder coated gray [black].

 

            C.        Vision Panel: Window shall be 7" x 30" shatter resistant clear

[smoke tinted] acrylic, set in black rubber molding.  Vision panel

shall be ADA and OSHA compliant, factory installed and sealed. Window shall be centered 60" from the floor.  Maximum height from finish floor to the bottom of the viewing area shall not exceed 40".

 

D.        Architect to select color from manufacturer’s standard colors (beige,  black, gray, light gray, red, blue, granite).

2.4       SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL

 

A.        Tolerances: Width and height of each panel: +/-1/4 inch

 

            B.        Complete unit to be assembled at factory, neat in appearance and

free from defects.

 

PART  3         EXECUTION

 

3.1                   EXAMINATION

 

            A.        Verify that opening is ready to receive work and opening

                        dimensions and clearances are as indicated on drawings.

 

            B.        Coordinate with responsible entity to perform corrective work on

                        unsatisfactory conditions.

 

            C.        Commencement of work by installer is acceptance of opening

                        conditions.

 

3.2                   INSTALLATION

 

            A.        Follow manufacturer's instructions.  Coordinate sequence of

                        installation with other work to avoid delays.

 

            B.        Install doors accurately in their respective frames with clearances,

                        necessary anchors, hardware and accessories according to the

                        manufacturer's data and as specified.

 

3.3                   ADJUSTING

 

                        A.        Follow manufacturer's instructions as required to:

2.         Adjust to open and close smoothly and freely without     binding

                                    3.         Check seals for proper fit.

3.4                   CLEANING

 

                        A.        Clean surfaces soiled by work as recommended by

                                    manufacturer.

 

                        B.        Remove surplus materials and debris from the site.
